Hamilton’s Lakeport Brewery closing, 143 to lose jobs
LakePort the Brewery that made waves with it's buck a beer campaign, that eventually got bought up by Labbats will be shutting it's doors. It wasn't so long ago that these guys were giving the big guys a run for their money, not that it's a great beer but, it was cheap cold and available. I think people were tired of paying almost twice the price for beer that wasn't any much better. Labbats realized that the only way to take control of this was to buy them and that what they did. While Labbats will still be selling and producing the product at another plant, it looks like it's over for the local Hamilton, Ontario plant and the jobs that went with it. Yuengling Beer
Well it been a while since I have posted an update, I was was recently down south and once again had the opportunity to have a few cold Yuengling's. (Yuengling is pronounced ying-ling). It's a mighty fine beer and I always seem to gravitate to this beer when ever in the US. Yuengling has been around for 180 years, which makes it the oldest operating brewery in the United States, the brewery is still family run!
Just recently, on Friday March 19th 2010, President Barack Obama sent a case of Yuengling, the Presidents favourite beer, to Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper along with a case of Molson Canadian to cover a friendly wager on the outcome of the 2010 winter Olympics hockey final. Net time you have an opportunity to try this beer do not hesitate as you will be pleasantly surprised
Cheers
