Miller Time At The Olympics

The IOC has told a few of the net minders that they need to de slogan their masks as it is a violation of the governing rules. While this story doesn't really have anything to do with beer, it does make me wonder why high paid HNL players are playing and not the junior teams, but thats just me.... anyways I say cheers to another cold one.

Shatterproof beer glasses unveiled in U.K.

Well this news story is a little shattering. Two prototypes of shatterproof pint glasses have been unveiled by the British government in an effort to curb the number of injuries from violence in pubs. It seems that bar fights are costing the UK government 170 million dollars a year in related health care costs . Wow! that seems a little extreme and crazy.
Have a look at this story at the link below.

Super Bowl Chicken Wing Recipe

Well I though I would add a recipe for chicken wings as most of us will be consuming wings   (food of the Gods) this coming Sunday as it Super Bowl Sunday. With that most people will be washing down their wings and snacks with a good helping of their favourite draft or bottled beer. For me I will be enjoying the game with friends while we partake in some liquid libation from my Beer kegerator. Here’s hoping you will be doing the same.

Cheers

Buffalo Style Chicken Wings
• 2 cups canola oil
• 2-3 pounds chicken wings
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
• 2 tablespoons butter
• Hot Sauce (The original recipe uses Durkee's Franks Original Red Hot Cayenne Pepper Sauce which can be found in many supermarkets stores or use whatever you have available)
• 2 teaspoon white wine vinegar

Fry up the wings in the oil until they are golden. You will want to move them around while they are frying so not to stick to the pan or deep fry ( this is the best way to cook them ). Don't try to fry them all at once. Do them in batches. They should take about 6 to 8 minutes for each batch to fry.
Remove them to a plate covered with a couple of layers of paper towels to drain the oil.
Then place them in a large bowl and add sauce and mix with kitchen utensil

Make’in the Sauce
In a small saucepan, heat the butter over medium heat. Add the hot sauce and vinegar. If you  like your wings hotter then add more hot sauce.  It is a personal preference.
Always start with less and add more if it isn't hot enough.
