My Beer Kegerator: It's DIY Kegerator Time 1. 2. 3.
Are you Looking for Home Bar Supplies?
well then kegworks is the site to go to, they have huge assortment of kegerator kits, gear and bar accessories. Every thing you would need to pimp out an old fridge into a DIY kegerator, the site is jam packed with great stuff!
I also recommend them as a good source of how-to information and tips to get you ready to build your first kegerator. In the mean time here is a quick 1 2 3 to get you going
Step: 1 The fridge
I would suggest looking for a used fridge on some of the free online classified sites, I was able to pick up a 5 year old full size fridge for $100.00
Step: 2 Gear
Once you have decided on the type of keg kit you want, go ahead and order it from KegWorks.com
, in a few days when your kit arrives you will be good to go to start your project
Step: 3 The build
Have a look on my site for free DIY kegerator plans, this is what I used and had my keg built and set-up in about 60 minutes with minimal tools
Step: 4 Drink beer
I don't think I need to add anything else here enough said...
until next time
Cheers

Beer Offerings Slim at Canadian Embassy in Washington
Looks like there is a bit of a situation below the 49th parallel, seems that the Canadian embassy in Washington DC has a limited type of Canadian Amber Nectar to serve guests and visiting dignitaries. Sure there’s a fine list of Canadian wines but it falls short when it comes to beer. All kidding aside we all know that every Canadian prefers Cold Canadian liquid libation over wine. A quote from the Canadian Press article reads If Canadian breweries want to see their beers on the embassy bar list, Nasser added, they can contact the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade to become part of a program that will supply their products to various embassies and consulates around the world. I say it looks like there is a real opportunity here for Canadian brewery boys to step up and hook fellow Canadians up.
I would like to suggest that anyone reading this, contact their local MP and demand that a better selection our Canadian brews be available at Canadian embassy’s.. Its not like there’s anything else more important going on in this world right now....
Cheers

What Every Man Wants For Christmass
Well as we get closer to the day when the man in red will make his move, I thought I would share this video of a really cool device that I'm sure every man would like to have or build.. (it's on my list)
No home should be without one get yours today in stores now!!
BTW I had a nice sample of Yellow Snow IPA this past weekend (thanks Andy), and I must say it was very refreshing, a nice citrus hint with a slight bite at the finish, perfect for a nice winter night. When your out at the liquor store have a look for this beer
Cheers

Hanging in LA
Well I just returned from spending a few chilly days in Los Angeles, while I was there I was able to get a private tour of the Universal Studio back lot. I must say it was very cool to be driven around desperate housewives Wisteria Lane while being able to sample some of LA's amber nectar. I had the pleasure to be staying at the Hyatt in Century City and right out the front of the hotel they were shooting a scene from the up coming movie the Green Hornet here is an aerial shot of one of those scenes.
On Monday night I had a celebrity sighting, I was invited to dinner at Tom Colicchio’s restaurant craft, located in Century City near the 20th Century Fox lot. If your not sure who he is, Tom is an American celebrity chef and judge on the show Top Chef. Upon entering the restaurant I saw Andie Macdowell and Carol Alt together, then Jeff Bridges & Co. Maggie Gyllenhaal and friends and sitting right next to my table was the beautiful Resse Witherspoon... wow ! what a night celebrity's and good beer.I was able to try my new favourite beer Serra Nevada Pale Ale it has perky high notes of maltiness and orange blossom and segues into a delectable hoppiness follow up, real nice stuff. The next time your down south give the brew a taste you wont be disappointed.
Cheers

Beer & Food Pairing

With the holiday season ahead, breweries are producing a wide variety of beer types and flavors. For beer enthusiasts, this is great news, but it also presents a challenge: How do you pair these unique beers with different types of food? The right pair, as a general rule, strong beers should be paired with strong foods. Consider alcohol content, hop bitterness, richness, aftertaste etc. As an example, a traditional IPA works best with strong, spicy dishes and rich, bold-flavored deserts. A lighter beer like a cream ale is best paired with dishes such as chicken, salmon, and salads. For more information on pairing beer and foods read the article found on the Mircomatic web site ( link below ) while there have a look at some of the great deals they have on Keg gear & accessories
