Have Beer, Can Travel

Well Mrs Beerinc and I will be making a big trek from the the mother land of Ontario to the town of Kamloops BC where Mrs Beerinc sister has a chalet in the mountains. While I am looking forward to visit, I'm also most interested in try the local crafted beer. one of the more popular breweries seems to be KB brewing ( though they do seem to have had very storied background) they seem to have a varied section of ales and lager so I know I will find something I like.

I will report back on my findings, BTW if you have had there beer feel free to leave a comment

Tis The Season For A Beer Cocktail

I was doing some reading and came across a story on beer cocktails. While I have known about this mixalation for a while there usually has only been a few tradition things that one would mix with beer. It seems there is now a trend now to get a little more exotic, I think this trend is due to a demand for a different taste bud experience. This past summer we saw an explosion of the lime beer fad, where at times the beer store could not keep up with the demand for this new taste. (I'm still on the fence with this one)
While I'm not a big fan of adding things to my amber nectar, I think this trend does requires a little attention and a tasting experiment I shall endeavour to attempt to do my own at home mixalation in the coming weeks.

I have include some of the more interesting recipes that I have come across on the net.

Cheers

Michelada
Pour your beer into a glass filled with ice and add the juice of one small lemon. Add a dash of soy, Tabasco and Worcestershire. Add a pinch of salt and pepper. For some, a true Mexican Michelada is not complete without a shot of Tequila mixed in.

Booze Brews
USA Today reports that trendy New York bars are serving up beer and spirits – together- and offering drinks like the Raspberry Spiked Apple Ale made with both beer and raspberry liqueur. The variations on this are only limited by your imagination

Isar water:
A wheat beer mixed with Blue CuraƧao and apple or orange juice. We are not sure of the background on this one but it sounds interesting.

Classic beer cocktails
The Classic Shandy:
Background: Both the American Heritage Dictionary and UK legislation have defined the "shandy", short for shandygaff, as a mixture of beer and ginger beer, ginger ale or lemonade. This drink gives all the pleasures of beer with the refreshment of lemonade

This old English tradition dates back to the 17th century.
Fill a pilsner or beer mug with lager and top with ginger ale, ginger beer or lemonade. If you are a bit more adventurous, try a shandy with limeade. Don't be afraid to add ice to this drink. You can't do that with your beer.

Lager and lime:
Add a dash of lime juice or lime cordial to a light lager.

Snakebite:
Mix your favorite beer (usually a heavier beer, like stout, works well) half and half with cider.

Black Velvet:
Mix stout and champagne, half and half.

Beer Bloody Mary:
Mix beer and tomato juice, half and half. Add a dash of Tabasco and a dash of Worcestershire.

Red Eye:
Add a shot of tomato juice to any ale or lager (this cocktail is also known as Tomato Beer or a Red Rooster). If you add a splash of Tabasco, the drink becomes a Ruddy Mary.

Liverpool kiss:
Mix a dark beer with Cassis.

BeeSting:
Dark beer and orange juice.

Skip and go naked:
Combine beer, lemon juice and gin, with a dash of grenadine.

Broadway:
Popular in Japan, mixing beer and cola is known as a Broadway.

Caribbean Night:
Beer and an ounce of coffee liqueur.

South Wind:
Beer with a shot of melon liqueur.

Happy Hour: The unbearable lightness of low-calorie beer - The Appetizer

You could put worse things in your mouth than that new low-calorie beer, Molson Canadian 67, like a pistol or a stranger’s sock. But at least with those things you could hold your head up high and say you weren’t tricked into it by a commercial. What's the deal now with extra extra low carb beer, first there was light beer then light carb beer and now it seems extra extra light beer.. ya know you cant mess with a natural thing like beer.. stop trying to 'trick it out' leave beer alone let it be what it's suppose to be, gooood tasteing and refreshing
have a look at this story for more detail...

Beer Scam !

I just wanted everyone about these recent string of scams targeting us guys. I was notified of this with a recent email.

Police today warned all men to stay cautious when offered drinks by women. Females are using a date rape drug called " Beer" to target unsuspecting men. This drug comes in liquid form and is available nearly everywhere. "Beer" is used by female predators to persuade hapless male victims to go home with them. Women need only persuade a man to consume a few of these " Beers" and then ask him home for no strings-attached sex, a simple approach that renders most men helpless. After several " Beers," men will have sex with even unattractive women. Often men awaken with only hazy memories of the night before, a horrible headache, and a vague feeling that something bad happened. Some really unfortunate men are even separated from their life's savings in a scam called "a relationship." In extreme cases, females have entrapped unsuspecting males into long-term servitude through a punishment called "marriage." Apparently, men are much more susceptible to this scam once " Beer" is administered. Forward this warning to every male you know. And if you, or some man you know, have fallen victim to this insidious " Beer" and the predatory women who administer it, rest assured: male support groups exist in every major city where you can discuss the ugly details of your encounter in an open and frank manner with similarly affected, like-minded guys. For the support group nearest you, look in the Yellow Pages under Golf Courses or any male group activity.

Moving To The Basement & Build Me A Bar

I had posted, way back that I was in the process of finishing off my basement, well I'm happy to report that the majority of the work has now been completed and me and the Beer Inc family are happily enjoying the new space. There are still a few minor thing that need to be done but most importantly is building the wet bar. I have bar plans that I got from Easy Home Bar Plans and am hoping to start the next phase of the basement build out shortly. One of the toughest things to decide is selecting the right accessories for your home bar I have been looking for Home Bar Accessories from www.kegworks.com they have some really nice things and the prices are fair. Once I have made my selections, I will post and update... in the mean time if anyone has any suggestions of bar gear or other cool stuff please drop my a line

Eye Of Newt ??

Well another Halloween has come and gone and, I'm sure everyone had a good time this year as it fell on a Saturday, this likely gave everyone extra time to get dressed in there favourite costume. I myself was dressed in my new 50's retro Bowling shirt that i recently received from BowlingShirt.com
Mrs Beer Inc was also in the same attire and we attended a party at one of my neighbours house. BTW he does it up right, from the inside to the outside !! During the evening there was a bit of strange liquid libation concoctions being consumed, in fact at one point I think I drank an eye of newt all in name of fun... thought I was content with my Amber nectar. Cant wait until next year !!

Hey...looking for some great after Halloween deals or just looking for a really cool shirt have a look at bowling shirts.com they have some very neat and slick stuff, great for stag and doe party's
