Looks Like the Beer War Of Words is Back

Well It looks like the beer companies are going to slug it out via outdoor bill board advertising. Have a look at this link to a story from Toronto, looks like Bud light is getting into the name game. Like I said in a post last week, it's only beer who thought the west coast and Ontario would be so child like..

Pimp Your Kegerator

I found this really cool site that sells Kegerators and Kegerator wraps, http://www.craigerator.com/Craigerators.htm
You have to have a look! there are some really slick set-ups. This got me to thinking that if you are planning on building your own Kegerator and your fridge is not so pleasant looking then this might be a cost effective way to have a kick ass cool looking setup. For sure you would be the talk of the neighbourhood.

BTW if you are planning on building your own keg I have free plans on my site that will guide you through the whole process.

Cool Beer Sign

I just picked up the real cool beer sign and have it attached to the front of my beer Kegerator it makes a real nice addition to my bar. Once you find one sign it seems that you can get addicted to buying them just like drinking draft beer from you keg. So far I have ordered another one and will give you a preview once I receive it. Man, who knew you could so much fun drinking the amber nectar. If you are looking to purchase a beer sign I would suggest trying your local flee market, garage sale or better yet have a look on one of my site sponsor as they have a really great selection of signs

Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wife carrying Finnish eukonkanto or sometimes akankanto, Estonian naisekandmine, Swedish kärringkånk, is a sport in which male competitors race while each carrying a female team-mate. The objective is for the male to carry the female through a special obstacle track in the fastest time. The sport was first introduced at Sonkajärvi, Finland.
The original track in the rough terrain with fences, rocks and brooks has been altered to suit modern conditions. These following rules set by the International Wife Carrying Competition Rules Committee apply:
• The length of the official track is 253.5 meters
• The track has two dry obstacles and a water obstacle, about one meter deep
• The wife to be carried may be your own, the neighbor's, or you may have found her further afield; she must, however, be over 17 years of age
• The minimum weight of the wife to be carried is 49 kilograms. If she is less than 49 kg, the wife will be burdened with a rucksack containing additional weight such that the total load to be carried is no less than 49 kg.
• All participants must have fun
• The only equipment allowed is a belt worn by the carrier, the carried must wear a helmet.
• The contestants run the race two at a time, so each heat is a contest in itself
• Each contestant takes care of his/her safety and, if deemed necessary, insurance
• The contestants have to pay attention to the instructions given by the organisers of the competition
• There is only one category in the World Championships and the winner is the couple who completes the course in the shortest time
• Also the most entertaining couple, the best costume and the strongest carrier will be awarded a special prize
• Participation fee is 50 euro

The Kegerators New Life

Well I did it.. I let go of my original kegerator, a good friend of mine who is an avid partaker in the amber nectar decide it was time to have his own kegerator. I had mentioned to him a few weeks back that I was planning on selling mine for a fair price and he was all over it. So this past weekend he came by and he and I loaded the kegerator into my family van and took it to its new home, luckily it’s only few minutes away. Once there I went through the setup with him as he is new to being a kegerator owner and after a few minutes of show & tell I was off. I have not heard from the new Keg owner, but I’m sure all is well as I have left it in the good hands of another (new) draft beer drink.

Tales From The Dock

Well I'm back after a weeks vacation in northern Ontario, Me and Mrs Beer Inc. and our good friends Mr & Mrs 'Randy the Cooler' spent a amazing week enjoying our favourite drinks, food, sunshine and fishing, ( for the beer brothers ) In fact the Cooler was able to accomplish something he has yet attained and that was to catch his first fish !! He was very excited and proud of his accomplishment and this called for a little liquid libation. One thing I did notice was once he had caught a fish he was hooked and at one point I thought fishing was going to overtake his desire to consume Ice cold Beer, but lucky he did come to his senses.
BTW I would have liked to have posted a picture of the monster of a fish he caught but we did not bring the camera out with us on our luxurious paddle boat, maybe next time for now it just another fish story.
It was unfortunate that we were not able to bring a Kegerator with us as this would have served us better, no empties and packaging to deal with and I must say there was a lot of empties! but Mrs Beer Inc. did bring a few beer bubbas that served their purpose, it nice to be able to have a nice cold draft beer while soaking up the sun...
BTW if you are looking for a portable kegerator or a Jockey box have a look at some of the sponsor's on this site

Funny Beer Ad

Tips To Keep You & Your Kegerator Happy

1. Clean the beer line at after each Keg of beer is done, this will help keep beer stones from forming on the inside of the beer lines.
2. When cleaning the faucet, take it apart and let it soak in the cleaning solution, you will be surprised on how much crud builds up inside and this can greatly effect your pour from the kegerator.
3. learn what the ideal pressure is for your type of beer ( usually between 12-14 psi )
4. Keep your kegerator full and a smile on your face
5. Make sure your beer glassware is clean. Dirty glasses can effect the taste and poring of your draft beer.
6. Temperature, make sure your keg of beer is at the ideal temp, if it’s to warm you will have foam, usually the ideal pressure is at least between 36-38 degrees Fahrenheit. The best way to check this is with a digital thermometer. First pour a glass of beer then pour a second and insert the thermometer into the second glass this will give you the actual beer temperature.
7. Remember to give the back of your Kegerator breathing space so it can remove the heat efficiently.
If you are able to follow these recommendations then you and your Kegerator are on cold and happy path to good drinking.

If you are considering a Kegerator or want additional information on cleaning then click on the Micromatic ad, they sell some of the best stuff in the industry.

Man Cave News

Me and Mrs Beer Inc were out visiting some good friends this past long weekend, and of course we were partaking in some liquid libation, the amber nectar was flowing, as you will see in the picture the beer of choice was Coors light, I prefer Coors but unfortunately it not available in Canada. I not really sure why that is but I will look into it and report back. The best part was that it was cold and available.
As the afternoon mingled along it soon came to me that what was needed was a kegerator, my good friend (The Rock Star ) does not have one but there has been many a conversation of building one from the plans that are available on this site, to buying a commercially built one ( I have both ). Well after much discussion and beer, I was glad to find out that (The Rock Star) had some great news to share, He and his girl friend plan the build a Man Cave. The man cave is to be decked out with all of the coolest guy and gal toys including a built in Kegerator !! Wow I cant wait to see the plans and the completed project and sample a cold draft from the setup. I will keep you posted on the progress.

BTW- If you are considering buying Draft Beer Equipment or building your own kegerator have a look at some of my postings on how I tricked out my kegerator, and at some of the cool vendors on this site
